Mission Statement

The mission of Alleghany High School is (1) to provide a safe environment in which we engage students in the learning process, (2) to instill in them a sense of pride in their school and communities, and (3) to equip them with the necessary tools to become productive members of society.

AHS Beliefs

  • Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social , emotional, and intellectual needs.
  • Students learn in different ways and should be provided with a a variety of instructional approaches to support their learning.
  • Teachers, administrators, parents, and the community share the responsibility for advancing the school's mission.
  • A student's self-esteem is enhanced by positive relationships and mutual respect among and between students and staff.
  • Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process.
  • The commitment to continuous improvement is imperative if our school is going to enable students to become confident, self-directed, life long learners.
