JRTC Board Meeting Notes

 

What follows are the notes from the January 9, 2018 meeting of the Jackson River Technical Center Joint Board of Control. You are encouraged to contact Eugene Kotulka if you have questions regarding this information.

 

Present: Cindy Bennett (Covington City), Eddy Clemons (Covington City), Bert Baker (Covington City), Gerald Franson (Alleghany County), Randy Tucker (Alleghany County), Craig Lane (Alleghany County), Glenn Spangler (JRTC Director), Christy Armentrout (Clerk), Melinda Snead-Johnson (Covington City Superintendent) and Eugene Kotulka (Alleghany County Superintendent).

 

1.           The minutes of the December meeting were approved.

2.           Mr. Spangler reported that the second semester had not yet begun due to inclement weather. He reported he expects enrollment of 331 students plus a post graduate student.  281 are AHS    
     students and 51 are CHS students. These numbers are subject to change, he noted.

3.           Mr. Spangler presented the SEDF report.  The report is broken down by ethnicity, gender, and traditional/non-traditional status.  JRTC has a 17.9% non-traditional student population.  He noted
     these numbers are subject to change also because this is a snapshot of a specific date.

4.            The Board approved a field trip for HOSA students on March 16-18, 2018.

5.            The Board approved updates to the Small Purchasing and Purchasing Procedures policies.

6.            Bills in the amount of $22,463.11 were approved.   Bills and salaries in the amount of $81,581.97 were also paid in accordance with approved salary and benefit schedules.
