Alleghany County School Board Members Collaborate with

Fellow Education Leaders at VSBA’s Annual Convention


Alleghany County, VA. – Alleghany County school board members and staff attended the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) 2019 Annual Convention in Williamsburg last week. Approximately 1,000 school governance leaders attended the convention, participating in more than 50 workshops, clinics and critical issues sessions focused on topics such as board governance, school law, workforce readiness, schools in challenging environments, advocacy, and educational trends.

“The VSBA Annual Convention offers opportunities for school board members and staff to be knowledgeable about school related topics.  I appreciate our entire board attending the conference this year”, said Superintendent Kotulka.   

Board members in attendance included Gerald Franson, Donnie Kern, Craig Lane, Danielle Morgan, Jennifer Seckner, Randy Tucker, and Jacob Wright.   Also attending were Eugene Kotulka, Superintendent; Jeff Alleman, Director of Technology; Lorie Bess, Clerk; Josh Craft, principal; Krista Craft, teacher; Candice Dupoise, teacher; Mallory Nicely, teacher; and Emily Timbrook, teacher.
