School Board Honors Students and Teachers

    The Alleghany County School Board held its regular monthly meeting at Clifton Middle School on Monday, March 21, 2011.  During the meeting, School Board members were treated to a preview of the CMS musical A Year with Frog and Toad. Members also recognized 155 Clifton Middle School students who scored 600 on an SOL assessment during the 2009-2010 testing period, two students for their demonstration of the Six Pillars of Character Counts, and seven teachers who were selected as Teacher of the Year from their respective schools.

The Alleghany County School Board honored the teachers nominated for the Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year Award.  Pictured left to right in the first row are School Board Chairman Stacy Bryant, FSES teacher Martha Nicholson; CES Teacher of the Year Cynthia Morgan; and MVES teacher Joleen Feazell.  In the second row are SES teacher Connie Puckett; BSES teacher Breanda Wallace; CMS teacher Katy Yohn; and AHS teacher Stephen Hodges.
