SCHOOL HEALTH ADVISORY BOARD
- Generally
Under the school board’s guidelines for citizens’ advisory committees a community-staff school health advisory board shall be activated as authorized in the legal reference to this policy.
- Objectives
The school health advisory board shall assist the staff in the evaluation of the status of school health, health education, the school environment and health services. Recommendations for changes in or additions to health related school board policies and the division’s regulations shall be submitted to the school board through the superintendent.
- Membership
The school health advisory board shall have 20 members.
- Term of Service
Members shall be appointed for a two-year term of service and may be reappointed.
- Meetings
The school health advisory board shall hold meetings at least semi-annually. Additional meetings may be called as necessary.
- Reports
Annual reports shall be made as mandated in the legal reference to this policy. Interim reports may be made to the school board through the superintendent.
