There are three components/requirements that are necessary for ACPS to re-open schools this fall. Below is a brief outline of the components/requirements with the attached documents providing more clarification:
- Instructional Plan – This plan is required by the VDOE in order to re-opening ACPS in the fall, regardless of the instructional delivery. It must be submitted to the VDOE as well as published to our division website. This plan was developed and unanimously voted upon by FLEC (The Future of Learning and Education Crew) on July 16, 2020. This crew consists of 35 members ranging from students to teachers to parents to administrators to counselors to community health partners, whom has met throughout the months of May, June, and July. The crew will continue to meet through the school year.
- Health Mitigation Plan, Phase III – This plan is required by the VDOE in order to progress in to Phase III as a school division. It must be submitted to the VDOE as well as published to our division website.
- Daily Screening Plan (draft) – As part of the instructional and health plans, each district must have a daily health screening practice put in to place.
